The standard edition of NewLive RM to AVI VCD SVCD DVD MPEG Converter is a fast tool to convert your Real Media files into AVI or MPEG, allowing you to create the necessary files to burn your videos into VCD, SVCD or DVD. The actual burning capabilities, though, are reserved for the Pro version of this software.
The conversion process is a straightforward one–you open the RM file, select your preferred format and the file is converted quickly and efficiently. This tool is proved to be really interesting for those who need to get their full RM files converted to AVI or MPEG without further complications. The program output formats are clearly oriented to disk burning–VCD, SVCD, DVD, MPEG (both MPEG1 and MPEG2), DivX and XviD, and all of them support both the PAL and the NTSC standard. It also includes some basic settings to adjust the size of the resulting picture on screen. It is also offered the possibility of listening to the audio of the RM file before re-encoding it.
The “Burn” functionality (specifically for burning to CD using the VCD standard) is not available in this version, though it appears in the options bar, being limited to the Pro edition.
